The Estate

At the time of Imperial Rome, the Colli Lanuvini area produced wines that graced celebrated banquets held by Roman patricians. It was precisely the Romans who exported the culture of wine-making to their colonies which fostered the creation all the enological varieties we enjoy today. From this point of view, the hills just south of Rome can be considered the enological cradle of the Old World!

The territory

Solonio’s vineyards are located in Lanuvio about 30 kilometers south of Rome. Spread along the Colli Albani hills, they are an integral part of the ‘Castelli Romani’ Regional Park, a protected nature area in the Lazio Region.
